    March 2019

    Former Baldwin Park Police Chief Lili Hadsell was awarded $9.5 Million in a Los Angeles verdict/settlement after she was wrongfully fired. The jury concluded Hadsell, who worked for the Baldwin Park Police Department for almost ten years before being appointed as the first female, Latina Chief of Police in the history of the city, was subjected to gender discrimination, gender harassment, and retaliation before being fired in 2013.   • Zhu v. LACMTA - $5.5 Million Settlement - Los Angeles, California

    November 2000

    Gary A. Dordick obtained a $5.5 Million settlement for plaintiffs Meiqun Zhu-Wong, a 41-year-old factory worker, her husband David Wong, and their baby daughter Lili Wong, against the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA). At the time of the accident Mrs. Zhu was pregnant. She claimed she was hit by a LACMTA bus while crossing an intersection on a green light and suffered injuries when the LACMTA bus failed to yield the right of way. LACMTA contended that Mrs. Zhu entered the intersection on a "don't walk" sign and walked into the side of the bus when it was already turning.  Read On
